Juliet, from Ludlow, explained how she’d started painting scenes from Travelling life, like her picture at Appleby Fair, below, almost 60 years ago. It was thanks to Rhona and Will Taylor.

“I met Gypsies Rhona and Will Taylor with their square-topped wagon on the Chichester by-pass back in the 1950s. The next time I saw Rhona she was suffering terrible toothache. My father was a dentist and he came out that night and extracted Rona’s tooth by candlelight! After that Rhona was happy for me to paint and draw her.”

Juliet put some of her paintings on show at thre GRT History event at Hartlebury Museum in June.

Megan, Mary, Delilah, Georgia and Savannah and friends came along to see them.
