Rhyme and place

Rhyme and place

Gypsy and Traveller youth can achieve anything if given a chance.  Kimberley Johnstone recently read her poem about Norfolk at Cromer Church -  where the five mayors present all came up and congratulated her on it

The Yr 6 pupil at Stalham Junior School in Norfolk has been recognised for way with words by becoming the poet laureate of her school.

Here's the poem itself:

Norfolk is a place where I’ve lived all my life!

I have watched the flowers of the spring come and go,

Leaves change colour, from greens to a dull brown.

 Norfolk is a great place!

In the reeds, ducklings quaking for their mother.

Otters bobbing in and out of the river bank!

A kingfisher perched up over the river bank, waiting for its next meal...

Its bright colours shimmer in the sun

Norfolk is a great place to be!

A foxglove opens its brightly coloured petals to the morning sun.

A stag swishes the autumn leaves with its proud antlers

A small fox creeps about at the dead of night

Listening, but always watching

Norfolk is the place to be!
