Roma Day in Dorchester Poem written by Raymond Arnold Wills.

ROMA DAY

It was Roma day in Dorchester town
where Hardy penned and Barnes wrote his rare sweet dialect poetry down
where the music from accordion played when gypsies danced and dreams were made
the storytellers told their tales of the Dorset towns rich country dales
Where farmers wives and dairy maids all gathered around in the Dorset green rich country glades
the told their tales of years gone by when Caroline Hughes was but a child n shy
when the market town was rich in life where yokels bartered dawn to night where Vardos rolled and gypsies danced across the hills like true romance.
