Call for applications -Paid internship (with the possibility of full-time employment)

APPLICATION DEADLINE: 23 November 2014

Internship Description: 

- Preparing reports and replying to queries, filing, linguistic revision of texts
- Internet research on Roma issues
- Communication with civil society and media partners
- Support in implementation of the Romedia Foundation's communications strategy  (Web 2.0, press release drafting, blogging, Facebook)
- Working for the production of our feature lenght documentary: "Jazz Way Out", co-produced by HBO Europe
- Translations
- Web content administration
Additional Tasks (depending on applicant's profile)
- Organize the filming in any location: getting and keeping in touch with local contacts, travel and accommodation arrangements, filming permits etc.
- Subtitling and editing in Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premier or Avid Media Composer
- Administrative tasks
- IT technical support

Note: The Romedia Foundation will ensure participation of the intern in conferences/workshops/meetings/screenings, when appropriate.




Profile of intern:

- Academic knowledge of English; knowledge of German or Romanes is a great asset.
- Good knowledge of international and regional challenges related to Roma.
- Experience in civil society work and/or human rights lobbying is an asset.
- Experience in journalism/media/online media work is an asset.
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel); knowledge of working with image- and film-editing softwares is an asset.
- Advanced Hungarian language skills are preferred
- Having Roma origins is an advantage, but not a requirement
Time frame:
Three-months paid internship (with the possibility of full-time employment) in Budapest, Hungary.
Starting date: 01 December, 2014
Ending date: 28 February, 2015
Note: Candidates should only apply if they seriously intend to take up the offer of an internship at the Romedia Foundation. Notification of withdrawal from the program after selection is unacceptable as it precludes others from this opportunity, and is a source of inconvenience to the Romedia Foundation.
Working conditions:
- Relevant infrastructure (office space, computer etc.) will be provided by the Romedia Foundation.
- The Romedia Foundation office has a central location in the Buda side of the city.
