Young Kilgetty Traveller fetches up in London

Walter Probert from Kilgetty was in London recently after being short-listed for the National Brits at Art award.

A student from Monkton Priory Project in Pembrokeshire, Walter had made it into the top 100 finalists. Here he is at the awards ceremony at the Southbank Centre in June.

Neil Kingham, Director General of the Equality and Human Rights Commission described Walter’s work as “insightful, well-crafted and creative”. Pembrokeshire Traveller Education Service head Bev Stephens said: “We are all very proud of the effort Walter put into his art entry and delighted that this has been rewarded by being short-listed and having the opportunity to go to London”

The awards encourage artworks that express the artists vision of a world without prejudice.
