Generous Fairgoers

26 May 2011

Vera Norwood, former mayor of Stow, has always supported Stow Horse Fair – even when many of her neighbours oppose it.

“Travelling people often enjoy a far better sense of community than many in the settled community,” Vera told TT.

Four years ago Vera was helping raise funds for a defibrillator at the local doctor’s surgery.

“I took a collection box around the Fair and not a single person refused me. I collected so much money I thought I was going to need a defibrillator myself as I staggered back to town with all the money.”
