THEY say what some people know could fit on the back of a postage stamp.

But a new competition launched by the Wales-based Romani Arts & Cultural Company is inviting school children to say something about Gypsy and Traveller culture by designing their very own postcard.

The new "Design-a-postcard" competition is open to all children who go to primary school in Wales. There are two entry categories available: Key Stage 1 entries and Key Stage 2 entries.

2014 will see more occasions celebrating Gypsy, Roma and Traveller history, following on from successful events in recent years, and "this is the perfect way to celebrate the big themes such as diversity and equality," says RC&AC director Isaac Blake.

It's also "an opportunity to explore an exciting history and culture. Be inclusive, be included, get involved!" says Isaac.

All participating schools will receive a thank you letter and certificate of participation and winning designs will receive prizes and the first place winner will also be offered a tailor-made arts workshop for their school and classmates. We will exhibit the postcards around Wales with support of Local Authority Traveller Education Services.

All entries to be submitted by 12th June 2014 to the following address:
