Tina Mckinstry

15 April 2010

More and more people are listening to Tina Mckinstry who features in the latest issue of TT Magazine.

Tina is an English Traveller (her family are Stanleys and Fitzgeralds) who moved to Queensland Australia eight years ago. While she runs her own beauty business, making music remains the love of her life.

Tina started out recording CDs for her friends and family and then put some of her songs on to YouTube.

She’s a self-taught pianist and guitarist, but it’s her voice than wins her audiences over. “I always knew I had a great ear for music. Although I started singing at school my family didn’t know about my singing until I was older.

“I loved the sound of yodeling. My inspirations are Frank Ifield, Loretta Lyn, Patsy Cline, Leanne Rimes, just to name a few. After people heard me sing everyone tells me I have the voice of an older country singer like Patsy. That was great to hear as I love the older style of country music.”
