The Race’s – who are from Derbyshire – met with Chuck Price and Jack Evans at Wigan and the horse-drawn journey started from there. Paul Race (pictured below with his daughter Hannah) told us about the journey.

“The journey, with three horse drawn wagons, started at the end of May, the first bit was along the main road – the A49. Then we carried on along the A6, stopping at Jeps Lane and Lancashire with Jack Evans (below) and Chuck Price.”
“Then we travelled to Lancaster to a picnic area which are pictured below. At the Picnic area we met up with the rest of some of my family mum and dad bringing my girls to see me on the journey.”
“If you’re wondering – that’s wild goose for dinner in the pot.”
“The journey took two weeks in all, and here we are arriving in Appleby. Everywhere we went, people were pleased to see us and took photographs and asked questions. We cleared up behind us and left the bin bags for the council men. You treat people how you want to be treated yourself.”

“We always like looking on The Travellers’ Times. I hope it keeps going for ever - so much interest, thanks.” Paul Race.
