Stow Horse Fair
Huge turn out for Stow Fair
Hundreds turned up to enjoy the first of this year’s Stow horse fairs. “One of the best I’ve been to in years,” declared one Fairgoer.
The TT team were there in full welcoming new magazine subscribers and giving away magazines.
A shadow was cast on an otherwise perfect day when a young man was rushed to hospital with a stab wound. Gloucestershire police reported that 24-year-old man, arrested in Essex on Tuesday May 18 had been charged and was due to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates Court on Thursday May 20.
Chief Superintendent Gary Thompson told TT the police were grateful to the Gypsy and Traveller community for their co-operation following the stabbing.
"Stow Fair is a large event, enjoyed by many people from different communities and whilst we are naturally disappointed that this incident has occurred, we realise that it is highly unusual for something like this to happen and we look forward to working together to make sure that nothing like this happens again.”
Gary Thompson: "Grateful to the community"
