Community news Kent - Well done Nancy Coates!

Nancy Coates has finished fourth out of around 120 competitors in her event at a major national showjumping competition earlier this month.

Nancy was representing Kent in the British Showjumping National Championships, which has grown and developed into a true Championship Show over the years.

“My daughter competes at showjumping and was also placed second in the 90 Open at Wales and West horse show on her pony Mr Dougherty,” proud mum and Dad Amy and Albert Coates told the Travellers’ Times. 

Over six-days across three showjumping arenas, the British Showjumping National Championships near Kenilworth in Warwickshire, showcases the best of British Showjumping. The event is a clear highlight in many riders’ careers.

Nancy comes from a family of horse-dealers who regularly trade at Appleby and other Gypsy and Traveller horse fairs.
