Young Traveller Patrick Dixon from Cardiff ran 10k for the charity Kidney Wales last year to help to raise vital funds to support families and change the lives of kidney patients in Wales.

Woodlands high School supported Patrick to take part in his first marathon and enter the race as a contestant. “I’m happy I was able to raise money for a good cause and by 2019 I want to complete a half marathon”, said Patrick.

The 16 year old, enjoys long distance running and is now looking forward to planning his next marathons to fundraise for charity and has his sights set on the upcoming Barrie and Newport 10Ks.

He added, “Stay humble, stay hungry and bring the next one on!”

Sonia Dixon, Patrick’s Mam, told Travellers’ Times,

“I am so proud of my sons’ achievement and want to thank his school for supporting him every step of the way”.
