Siobhan Spencer, MBE, graduates with a doctorate degree
Doctor Siobhan Spencer, MBE, of Derbyshire Gypsy Liaison Group has graduated from Anglia Ruskin University with a PhD through the Faculty of Health, Education, Medicine, and Social Care.
Dr Spencer's study was 'Understanding Myasthenia In The Romany Gypsy Community, Living With Myasthenia Gravis And Its Effects On The Family', which took place the in Faculty of Health, Education, Medicine, and Social Care.
Myasthenia gravis is a long-term neuromuscular disease that leads to varying degrees of skeletal muscle weakness. The most commonly affected muscles are those of the eyes, face, and swallowing.
“I felt there is not enough about how families manage with this serious condition and how they managed at the side of the road,” Dr Spencer said.
