Passion by David Morley

Ecologist and poet David Morley’s new, supercharged collection, Passion, focuses on love, nature, and Romany Traveller life and language through storytelling and speech.

Drawing on Romany language, storytelling and the speech of birds, these poems look at climate change and environmental devastation from the perspectives of the margins, Morley unpacks experiences of growing up in two worlds, Romany and English, touching on themes including domestic violence and childhood trauma.

Women are central to, and celebrated throughout, the collection, from their stories in Romany camps to world-shaping discoveries by female scientists.
