Hey, Romale, Ashunen! – How to get help from food banks - video for UK Roma in Romanes

A new video giving advice on how to access foodbanks for UK Roma in the Romanes Language has been released by the Roma Voice Centre.

The video, available on You Tube, offers sound advice from advocates and food bank operators is subtitled in English – so is useful advice for English speakers as well.

Roma Voice Centre: Giving a Voice to the Roma Community

A spokesperson from the Roma Voice Centre said: 

“Not every immigrant from Eastern Europe is aware of the existence of food banks in the UK, especially the vulnerable people, who do not speak English and have low literacy levels. 
 

So how would Roma know of this essential and sometimes - life saving food support? 

Well, now Roma Voice Centre is here to help share the information about essential support available to all UK residents - in the native language of Roma people: Romanes. This time we speak about Food bank/hub and how to benefit of it. 

This video is realised by the Roma Voice Centre in partnership with RCCT Romanian Community Hub and AndoGlasso with the support of The National Lottery Fund. Thanks to contributions of all participants: Hounslow Borough Council, The Roma Support Group and RCCT.
